Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel leads inspection visit to Nigerian Navy Hydrographic site in Ogun Waterside

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, His Excellency the Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FAEng, led a momentous inspection visit to the untapped Nigerian Navy Hydrographic landed property in Abigi, Ogun Waterside Local Government.

In the company of notable figures, including HRH Oba (Engr.) Ogunye, the Ojumotoro of Abigi, and HRH Oba Salami, the Osobia of Makun Omi, as well as various political leaders from Ogun Waterside, Senator Daniel’s delegation aimed to assess the facility’s current state and explore developmental avenues for enhanced naval operations and community engagement.

Senator Daniel, a dedicated advocate for maritime security since assuming the role of Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, conveyed his commitment to ensuring the optimal utilization of the untapped Nigerian Navy hydrographic site. He pledged to brief the Chief of Naval Staff on his findings, with plans for a subsequent naval delegation to further assess the site. Emphasizing the vital role of hydrographic services in ensuring safe navigation, especially in the maritime environment, Senator Daniel assured the community that this project would be prioritized and executed with speed.

In response, HRH Oba (Engr.) Ogunye and HRH Oba Salami, esteemed traditional rulers, expressed deep appreciation for Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s initiative in prioritizing maritime infrastructure development in the local government. They underscored the positive implications such efforts would have on national security and the welfare of the local populace.

Political leaders present echoed their support for initiatives contributing to the enhancement of the Nigerian Navy’s capabilities and the overall development of Ogun Waterside Local Government.
