This sudden loss has left a profound void in both the business and social spheres, where SMART was widely revered for his exceptional leadership and generosity.

Renowned for his astute business acumen, Smart made significant strides in the business world, not only in Nigeria but also across West Africa, particularly in the Republic of Benin. With substantial investments spanning Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, and Benin Republic, his entrepreneurial ventures left an indelible mark on the economic landscape.

Beyond his business accomplishments, he was known for his vibrant presence in social circles. His charisma and charm endeared him to many, and his relationships extended to influential figures, including Modinat Onabanjo, the widow of the late Ademola Adekogbe, affectionately known as Omo Baba Modina.

Moreover, his impact transcended business success, as he generously shared his knowledge and expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs, mentoring numerous individuals in the art of wealth creation. Notable personalities like Hon Babs Oduyoye, a former lawmaker and Senior Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State, were among those fortunate enough to benefit from his guidance.

In his later years,  Bodunrin embraced his faith, becoming a devout Muslim and preparing to celebrate his 70th birthday—a milestone that now serves as a poignant reminder of a life well-lived.

As friends, associates, and admirers reflect on the legacy of Khalifa Abdul Wasiu Bodunrin (SMART), they fondly remember a visionary businessman, an influential socialite, and a generous mentor whose impact will endure for generations to come.

He has since been buried according to Islamic injunction.
