Ihunwo announces new appointments, emphasising diligence, amid political tensions between Rivers Governor Fubara and Minister Wike
[dropcap]C[/dropcap]hijioke Ihunwo, chairman of Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers state, has appointed 130 special assistants.
Ihunwo, who announced the appointments in a post on X on Wednesday, said the new hires “must serve diligently”.
Some of the appointees are Helen Nyekwere, Josephine Wogu, Daisy Worgu, Wagwu Hilda, Ogbonna Stella, Goodness Ogbonna, and Grace Amadi.
Ihunwo added that the appointments take immediate effect.
The politician is an ally of Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state.
In October of the same year, he scrubbed Nyesom Wike’s name off the administrative block of the council secretariat.
Wike and Fubara are political foes who have been locked in a supremacy battle in the state.
