Bode George slams Atiku and Wike

Bode George slams Atiku and Wike over PDP crisis, urging both leaders to resolve differences instead of blaming APC for the party’s troubles

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]mid the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), party chieftain Bode George has criticised former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, accusing them of committing “Harakiri” in their handling of the situation.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Friday, George dismissed Atiku’s claim that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was responsible for the PDP’s troubles.

He argued that both parties have internal challenges but insisted that PDP must focus on resolving its own conflicts through dialogue.

George emphasised that political credibility is crucial for winning elections, urging PDP leaders to put aside their differences and work towards unity.

“If you want to be a winner in a political setting, your public image is very important. If people are looking at us and asking, ‘Can you trust this person?’ You mean they don’t have any crisis in APC? Of course, they do,” he said.

He pointed out that APC itself is not without issues, citing the alleged imposition of Abdullahi Ganduje as the party’s National Chairman.

*”They have never held any meeting, no National Executive Committee meeting. Ganduje, who is their chairman, has just been imposed.

No meeting, no National Executive Committee meeting. So, it’s not only us, but for God’s sake, we can resolve our own.”*

George urged all factions within the PDP to come together and find a solution, stating that blaming the APC was a distraction from the real issues.

*”Throwing tantrums and pushing issues that it’s the APC that is doing this and that is just undermining the issue. We must sit down—all sides of the divide.

Both Atiku and Wike have committed Harakiri. We must be bold enough to tell them that enough of this nonsense.”*
