CAF has appointed Kenyan referees for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and South Africa on March 8

 

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed a team of Kenyan match officials for the upcoming 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier between Nigeria’s Flamingos and South Africa.

The crucial second-round first-leg encounter is scheduled to take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday, March 8. Leading the officiating team is Josephine Wanjiku, who will serve as the centre referee.

She will be assisted by her compatriots Mary Njoroge (Assistant Referee 1), Elizabeth Njoroge (Assistant Referee 2), and Juma Lucy Awino as the fourth official.

In addition to the Kenyan officials, CAF has assigned Cindy Barbara Dludlu from eSwatini as the match commissioner, while Moroccan referee assessor Khadija Rezzag will oversee the performance of the officials.

The return leg of the tie will be played a week later on Saturday, March 15, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Nigeria.

The team that emerges victorious over both legs will progress to the final qualifying round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is set to take place in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November, marking another milestone for African women’s football on the global stage.
