Burna Boy has been recognised as the Best Overall Male Artiste at the African Entertainment Awards USA (AAEA) held in Nairobi, Kenya, further solidifying his global music icon status

 

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]igerian music superstar, Burna Boy, has once again received international acclaim, being crowned the Best Overall Male Artiste at the prestigious African Entertainment Awards USA (AAEA).

The awards ceremony, which took place yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya, served as another significant tribute and resounding evidence of Burna Boy’s undeniable global stature within the music industry.

While several other talented Nigerian artistes also shone brightly and secured various awards at the esteemed music event, it was the “African Giant” himself, Burna Boy, who took home the coveted top honour of the night.

Other notable Nigerian artists who enjoyed success at the AAEA awards ceremony include:

Tems: The Grammy Award-winning sensation was recognised as the Best Global Female African Artist for her exceptional contributions to music on a global scale.

Wizkid: His captivating song, ‘Piece of My Heart’, was awarded the title of Best Afro-R&B song, highlighting his versatility and continued influence in the genre.

Ayra Starr: The burgeoning talent secured the award for Best Female Artist in West Africa, acknowledging her growing impact and popularity within the region.

Darkoo: Representing the diaspora, Darkoo was honoured with the award for the Best Diasporan Act, celebrating artists of African origin making waves internationally.

Seyi Vibez: His consistent output and popularity earned him the award for Best Male Artist, recognising his significant contributions to the African music landscape.

Asake: His popular track ‘MMS’ was recognised as the Best Afro-Native Song, celebrating the fusion of traditional African sounds with contemporary music.

Odumodu: His lyrical prowess was acknowledged as he won the award for the Best Rapper in West Africa.

Davido: His collaborative efforts on the global stage were recognised as he won the award for Best Global Collaboration for his track with American R&B star Chris Brown.

 

The AAEA awards ceremony also celebrated the achievements of other prominent African stars, including South Africa’s Tyla, who impressively won in two different categories, and Tanzanian sensation Diamond Platnumz, who also shone brightly during the event.
