Preliminary investigations revealed that the aforementioned vehicle had been reported stolen from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

In an attempt to evade justice, the suspects offered the patrol team a cash bribe of one million naira (₦1,000,000). The officers, demonstrating exceptional commitment to their duty and the rule of law, sternly rejected the illicit offer. The suspects are currently in police custody.

“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, commended the officers’ commitment to upholding the law and exhibiting a high level of integrity,” stated DSP Abubakar Sadiq, Command Public Relations Officer.

The police also recovered the suspected stolen motor vehicle, the attempted bribe money of ₦1,000,000 in cash, three mobile phones, one power bank, and a bunch of keys from the suspects as exhibits.

Investigations are ongoing to thoroughly unravel the extent of the suspects’ involvement in other criminal activities. Further details will be communicated as the investigation progresses.

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Bello Shehu, lauded the officers involved for their exemplary dedication to upholding the law and for exhibiting a high level of integrity in the face of temptation.
