Three Labour Party lawmakers, including two federal representatives and a state assembly member, have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, citing Governor Mbah’s developmental strides

This defection follows the recent move by two LP chieftains, Prince Emeka Mamah and Titus Odo, and the 2023 LP governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, who also rejoined the PDP.

The defecting lawmakers were originally PDP members who switched to the LP during the 2023 general elections.

Speaking at the PDP Secretariat in Enugu, Mr. Onyechi expressed his satisfaction at rejoining his former party and pledged to work towards its advancement.

He commended Governor Peter Mbah’s developmental initiatives, particularly the N2 billion project across 260 political wards in Enugu.

Mr. Obetta cited Governor Mbah’s focus on transport, education, health, and hospitality as reasons for his return to the PDP, emphasizing that collaboration with the governor would lead to further development in Enugu State.

Mr. Agbo thanked his constituents for their understanding and predicted the decline of the LP in Enugu State, asserting that the opposition would face significant challenges.
