In a statement released yesterday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Oscar Ivara, highlighted that under the dedicated leadership of Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka, the command has consistently delivered record-breaking performances across all its responsibilities.

“The Command has persistently churned out record revenues since the turn of the year; its stakeholder’s engagement has also been commended for being top-notch going by many indications,” the statement read.

The figures reveal a substantial increase compared to the corresponding period last year. In May, a total of ₦128.446 billion was generated, significantly surpassing the ₦92.671 billion collected in May 2024.

Similarly, the revenue figure for April 2025 stood at ₦145.000 billion, marking a considerable increase over the ₦95.500 billion recorded in April 2024.

Comptroller Onyeka has consistently affirmed that his primary objective is to facilitate seamless revenue generation while actively encouraging legitimate trade. He emphasises that all trade must be lawful and not detrimental to the nation’s economy.

Since assuming duty at the Command, Comptroller Onyeka has fully embraced the policies set forth by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.
