Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema defends the airline against an alleged smear campaign, urging national support for indigenous businesses while announcing a new London Heathrow route

This comes amid reported tensions with former governor Adams Oshiomhole. Speaking out, Onyema called for widespread national support for indigenous businesses, emphasising the crucial role they play in job creation and economic growth.

He also revealed a significant milestone for the airline: the launch of a new Abuja to London Heathrow route scheduled to begin on October 26, a move backed by government support.

Onyema expressed concern about efforts to undermine Nigerian enterprises. He urged citizens to recognise and champion local businesses that contribute substantially to the nation’s economy and provide employment opportunities for many.

His comments underscored the importance of fostering a supportive environment for companies operating within Nigeria.

“Nigerians should jettison this pull him down syndrome,” Onyema stated firmly, addressing the need for a shift in public perception and support for local industries.

“Both government agencies and citizens must stop trying to destroy their own.” He believes that genuine progress requires collective effort and an appreciation for the challenges faced by local entrepreneurs.

The announcement of the new Abuja to London Heathrow route marks a major expansion for Air Peace’s international operations.

This development signifies a notable achievement for the airline, broadening its global footprint and offering more travel options for Nigerians.
