The Heirs Insurance Essay Competition offers scholarships worth ₦8m for JSS students across Nigeria. Submit essays before July 8, 2025. Theme: family safety

The Heirs Insurance Essay Competition has officially opened for entries, offering an exciting platform for junior secondary school students across Nigeria to showcase their creativity, gain national recognition, and win life-changing scholarships.

This year’s topic, “The Role of Insurance in Keeping Families Safe and Secure”, encourages students in JSS1 to JSS3 to reflect deeply on how insurance contributes to stability and protection in Nigerian homes. The competition is not just about writing; it is about shaping young perspectives on financial security and social responsibility.

Participants are expected to submit essays of no more than 500 words by July 8, 2025, through the dedicated online portal at www.heirsinsurancegroup.com/essay.

The prizes are substantial and designed to directly empower both students and their schools.

The grand prize winner will walk away with a ₦5 million scholarship, while the first and second runners-up will receive ₦2 million and ₦1 million scholarships respectively. Additionally, the winning student’s school will be granted ₦1 million, reinforcing the competition’s mission to support holistic educational development.

Speaking about the initiative, a representative from Heirs Insurance said,

“This competition is more than just an essay contest. It’s about equipping the next generation with the mindset to value protection, responsibility, and forward thinking.”

Across the country, teachers and parents are being encouraged to inform their students and wards about this opportunity.

Organisers are distributing letters and e-flyers to schools, community leaders, and educators to spread the word effectively.

Social media outreach is also a key part of the campaign, and the company has called on the public to support the awareness efforts.

In an environment where access to quality education remains a concern, Heirs Insurance is using this competition to bridge gaps and inspire excellence. It is a bold move to make insurance relatable to young Nigerians, and more importantly, to give them a voice in national conversations.

The Heirs Insurance Essay Competition is a timely and thoughtful intervention that is already generating interest across various sectors.
