Daddy Showkey praises Pasuma for standing by his family during a life-threatening accident that kept him in hospital for three years, calling him a true friend

[dropcap]D[/dropcap]addy Showkey praises Pasuma for his unwavering support during one of the most difficult periods of his life, hailing him as a true friend who stood tall when others vanished.

The veteran musician opened up during a live performance at a celebrity event where the fuji icon, Alabi Pasuma, made a surprise appearance.

The “Galala” crooner stunned fans with an emotional revelation, recalling how Pasuma cared for his family after a 2007 car accident that kept him hospitalised for three years.

“You see this man, he stood by me during bad times and good times,” Showkey said, gesturing toward Pasuma on stage.

The crowd erupted in cheers as he narrated the ordeal, now captured in a viral video that has taken over social media timelines.

According to him, while he battled for his life, it was Pasuma who ensured that his wife and children were cared for.

His sincerity shone through as he recounted the isolation and abandonment he experienced from fellow artistes during those tough years.

“Many people didn’t see me in public or hear my music for years because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years.

Pasuma was the one taking care of my family. I can never forget him in my life,” he stated.

He didn’t mince words in criticising the industry’s culture of pretence and opportunism. “After I recovered, I visited others, but they didn’t give me the opportunity to see them, not to talk of helping.

When I got to their houses, they would tell me they were not around—even when they were clearly inside,” he revealed.

The heartfelt moment has sparked conversations online about loyalty, brotherhood and the struggles many artistes face behind the scenes.

For Daddy Showkey, the bond with Pasuma has gone beyond music, standing as a testament to true friendship in an industry known for its fleeting alliances.
