In a statement on Telegram, Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said a person was killed in a strike on the village of Tavriyske. The blast was caused by a guided bomb, which also hit a residential building.

Kherson’s military administration reported that the attack left a 34-year-old man wounded.

In a separate incident in the Korabelny district of Kherson, a woman in her 70s was injured overnight when Russian forces bombed the area.

The Kherson city council confirmed her injuries via Telegram, adding that emergency services had responded promptly.

Russia airstrikes kill one, wound two in Ukraine’s Kherson region almost daily, as the Kremlin intensifies its campaign of shelling towns and cities across southern and eastern Ukraine.

Moscow’s troops have also continued a steady advance in the northeast Sumy region.

Meanwhile, diplomatic progress remains stalled despite growing pressure from the United States and European allies.

Kyiv has accused Moscow of sabotaging peace efforts in order to prolong the war and capture more territory.

Since launching its full-scale invasion in 2022, Russia has claimed to annex four Ukrainian regions, in addition to Crimea, which it occupied in 2014.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a landmark agreement with the Council of Europe to establish a special tribunal that will prosecute top Russian officials for crimes related to the invasion.

As Russia airstrikes kill one, wound two in Ukraine’s Kherson region, international calls for accountability continue to mount, underscoring the human toll of the protracted conflict.
