Daddy Freeze slams 2Baba

Daddy Freeze slams 2Baba apology video, calling it insincere and concerning. He says 2Baba is no longer himself and may be under control

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]igerian media personality Daddy Freeze has stirred reactions after he openly criticised 2Baba’s recent apology video, describing it as insincere and unrecognisable from the legendary musician fans once knew.

In an Instagram video posted Thursday, Daddy Freeze expressed deep concern about 2Baba’s recent public behaviour and raised questions about who is truly influencing the star’s actions.

Daddy Freeze began by stating that 2Baba’s emotional apology meant to clear the air over his recent controversial statements about men being naturally polygamous lacked the maturity and depth fans expected.

Rather than offering a clear and composed statement, 2Baba’s language and tone suggested confusion and manipulation, according to the media personality.

“This is not the Innocent Idibia I know,” Daddy Freeze began.

“We don’t like this version of 2Face that we are seeing. Do2dtun was right. E be like say Jebeto don dey control Pinopi o.”

His words echoed the sentiments of fans and fellow celebrities who have expressed unease over the singer’s recent behaviour, with some even suggesting that he may be under someone’s control.

Freeze went further to allege that 2Baba has become distant and unresponsive to those close to him.

He revealed that multiple attempts had been made to meet privately with the artist, but 2Baba reportedly failed to show up each time.

I cannot watch somebody I know and love continue to depreciate like this and keep quiet.

“Some people will say why didn’t I reach 2Face privately?” he said.

“We’ve tried to convene a meeting with him three times and he refused to show up. So, I cannot watch somebody I know and love continue to depreciate like this and keep quiet.”

The veteran broadcaster clarified that his criticism comes from a place of concern and affection for the Afrobeats legend.

“Alright, you said something that didn’t make sense, apologise. You’ve legend status. A one-line apology is enough. Which one is, ‘I fuck up, I fuck up’? You are not a child, 2Baba,” Freeze added.

Fans have responded with mixed emotions. While many support Daddy Freeze’s boldness in addressing the issue publicly, others argue that 2Baba deserves some privacy during a difficult moment in his personal life.

Social media has since been flooded with reactions, many of which echo concerns that 2Baba’s current demeanour does not reflect the confident, grounded artist the public once revered.

2Baba has yet to respond directly to Daddy Freeze’s video, and there has been no official clarification from his team regarding the claims of manipulation or absence from arranged meetings.

His apology video, however, remains live on his social media page, continuing to spark intense debate among his loyal fanbase.

This development adds to a growing list of public controversies involving 2Baba, who recently confirmed his separation from longtime partner Annie Idibia.

The breakup, which drew wide attention earlier this year, was seen by many as a turning point for the singer’s personal life and public image.

As Daddy Freeze puts it, “If you can’t recognise yourself in the mirror, it’s time to take a step back.”

Whether 2Baba will take that advice remains to be seen, but the conversation surrounding his recent decisions shows no signs of slowing down.
