The Group Chairman of Adron Group, Sir Aare Adetola Emmanuelking KOF, has paid a heartfelt tribute to His Royal Majesty Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, who passed away at the age of 91.
In an emotionally resonant statement, Emmanuelking described the late monarch as a symbol of unity, identity, and pride for Ijebu people and the wider Yoruba nation.
With a reign that spanned an astonishing 65 years, Oba Adetona became one of the most enduring and transformative traditional rulers in Nigerian history.
“His Royal Majesty reigned not merely by the sceptre, but by the rare power of vision, intellect, and integrity,” Emmanuelking stated.
“He embodied royalty in its purest form, not as a relic of the past, but as a living force that shaped the present and laid the foundations of the future.”
The real estate magnate reflected on Oba Adetona’s unique ability to blend cultural preservation with progressive leadership.

His reign, according to Emmanuelking, brought economic vibrancy, modern values, and a renewed sense of pride to Ijebuland.
“He was not just a king, but a colossus, a living oracle whose words stirred minds and moved mountains,” he said.

“To be Ijebu was to be proud. To serve Ijebu was to be honourable. To be under his reign was to witness greatness firsthand,” Emmanuelking noted.

“Now, the lion sleeps, but his roar shall echo in eternity,” he concluded.
The passing of Oba Sikiru Adetona, whose life was a tapestry of wisdom, strength, and vision, marks a turning point in Yoruba history.
