Renewed Hope Mother and Childcare Hospital

Renewed Hope Mother and Childcare Hospital was opened in Warri by the Olu during his 4th coronation, marking a milestone for maternal and child health in Delta

Renewed Hope Mother and Childcare Hospital was officially commissioned yesterday in Ugbuwangwe, Warri, by His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, marking a milestone in both his reign and community healthcare development.

The commissioning coincided with the monarch’s fourth coronation anniversary, blending royal celebration with social impact.

Built by the Presidency through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulure, and with the unwavering support of the Warri throne, the 80-bed, state-of-the-art facility is tailored to meet the specialized health needs of mothers and children.

“This hospital is not just a building; it is a testament to our collective commitment to protecting our most precious assets: our mothers and our children,” a palace spokesperson said.

Designed to offer quality maternal and child healthcare, the hospital was unveiled in a ceremony attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and public officials.

Representing the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, was his Chief of Staff, Prince Johnson Ejiro.

His Majesty conveyed heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing the health of the Warri people, calling the facility a gift of “renewed hope” and a beacon of progress in the region’s development agenda.

The hospital forms a lasting legacy of the Olu’s fourth year on the throne, but it was far from the only highlight of the day.

At the palace, an Itsekiri Language Competition energized the cultural spirit, as children captivated an audience with storytelling and spoken word in their native tongue.

The initiative is part of the palace’s efforts to preserve indigenous language and heritage among the younger generation.

Later, the palace grounds transformed into a festival arena as Nigeria’s Atlanta ’96 Olympic football legends joined Itsekiri chiefs and youths for a novelty football match.

The crowd roared with excitement, uniting generations in a shared love for sports and community pride.

The Olu’s anniversary festivities continue with today’s Regatta on the Warri River, showcasing the kingdom’s rich maritime traditions in a stunning display of boats, colors, and pageantry.
