Soludo Anambra Election gains momentum as traders endorse his second term, pledging support for APGA ahead of the November 8 governorship poll
Soludo Anambra Election received a major boost on Saturday as thousands of traders across the state endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid, describing it as a partnership for the good of Ndi Anambra.

Speaking at the Chuba Ikpeazu Sports Complex in Onitsha, during a rally organised by the Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association, Soludo vowed to approach the November 8 governorship election with all seriousness.
He stressed that despite insisting he had no real opponents, the exercise would not be taken for granted.
The governor, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), dismissed opposition contenders as seeking only “appointment and cheap popularity.” According to him, “gone are the days when charlatans rule Anambra.”
During the rally, Soludo unveiled reforms in the state’s tax system, assuring traders that petty levies would be abolished and no citizen would be asked to pay cash.
He said revenue collection would be fully digitalised to ensure transparency.
Highlighting achievements under his administration, the governor pointed to market cleanups, new infrastructure projects, and the elimination of touts from Onitsha roads. He reminded traders that APGA remains the “true address” of Anambra politics.
The rally climaxed with the traders’ union presenting a symbolic cheque of N10 million to support Soludo’s re-election campaign.
The gesture, Soludo noted, was proof that the movement had grown into a people-driven effort.
“Between now and November, more projects will be unveiled. This is a partnership with the people, and together we will continue building a stronger Anambra,” he said.
