NDLEA Adamawa seizes drugs weighing 589.536kg in just two months, a development the command described as a significant victory in Nigeria’s war against illicit substances.

Commander Aliyu Abubakar, addressing journalists at the command headquarters along Numan Road on Wednesday, said the success was achieved through transparency, accountability, and stronger public trust.
He explained that the crackdown followed the agency’s three-pronged approach of supply reduction, demand reduction, and advocacy, in line with the vision of NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd).
Within the period, the command arrested 107 suspects, including women, and seized narcotics such as cannabis, Tramadol, Exol-5, Pentozacine injections, methamphetamine, codeine tablets, promethazine injections, and Rohypnol.
Abubakar disclosed that six properties in Mubi and Yola, along with vehicles linked to drug storage and distribution, are under interim forfeiture proceedings.
On prosecutions, the commander confirmed that 15 convictions have been secured, while 50 other cases remain pending before the Federal High Court in Yola.

He warned that anyone still engaged in drug trafficking or abuse should desist immediately, stressing that the law will soon catch up with them.
