The 54-year-old actor broke the news on Saturday via his Instagram page, where he shared a photo of his late son alongside a short prayer.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ,” he wrote. Chatta did not reveal details surrounding his son’s passing.

Almost immediately, colleagues and fans flooded his comment section with messages of condolence and prayers for strength.

The news comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, in Ibadan a double tragedy that has cast a heavy shadow over Nollywood.

This is not the first time Ibrahim Chatta has faced such pain. In June, he recalled how he lost his first child, a daughter, many years ago.

He recounted the hardship of being unable to afford medical care or even a coffin, forcing him to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate.
