Kamala Harris condemns Utah shooting Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has expressed outrage and sorrow following the targeted shooting at Utah Valley University that left conservative commentator Charlie Kirk critically injured.

Harris, who served as the 49th vice president of the United States under President Joe Biden, called the attack “deeply disturbing” and urged Americans to reject political violence.
“Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family,” Harris said in a statement. “Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence.”
Her remarks highlight growing concerns about a surge in politically motivated attacks across the country.
The Utah shooting, which occurred during a debate hosted by Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, has renewed calls for stronger security measures at public events.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump issued his own tribute, calling Kirk “a truly Great American Patriot.” In his statement, Trump announced:
“In honor of Charlie Kirk, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”
Both leaders’ responses underline the rare moment of bipartisan grief in a deeply divided political climate.
