Air Peace Graduate Trainee Programme offers 1,000 jobs to young Nigerians as airline responds to federal levy suspension with major recruitment initiative

Air Peace graduate trainee programme for the 2025/2026 intake is set to create 1,000 jobs for fresh Nigerian graduates, marking a major boost for youth employment in the aviation sector.

The announcement comes after the Federal Government suspended the controversial 4% Free on Board (FOB) levy on imported goods — a policy reversal welcomed by airlines, manufacturers, and trade stakeholders.

Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, described the levy’s suspension as a “lifeline” for the aviation industry, warning that its implementation could have triggered job losses and operational strain.

“This suspension is a lifeline for the aviation industry,” Onyema said in a statement on Wednesday.

“It removes a heavy burden that could have crippled airlines and triggered massive job losses. In turn, Air Peace is reciprocating this kind gesture by creating 1,000 fresh graduate jobs for young Nigerians.”

The Air Peace graduate trainee programme is designed to equip young graduates with key technical skills, mentorship, and hands-on experience to thrive within aviation and allied industries.

Onyema explained that the programme will serve as a strategic pipeline for a competent, future-ready workforce.

Applicants must be 30 years old or younger at the time of application and hold a minimum of a Second Class Lower (2:2) degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

A valid NYSC discharge certificate, exemption, or exclusion letter is also required.

Beyond qualifications, the airline is looking for candidates who demonstrate adaptability, a passion for aviation, and a strong willingness to learn.

Applications are open until 30 September 2025, and interested candidates can apply via the official recruitment page:

The initiative has been praised as a prime example of public-private synergy.

Onyema commended President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, for acting swiftly to address the sector’s concerns.

“If further supportive measures like this come from the Federal Government, I can assure you that thousands more jobs will be created in the aviation sector,” Onyema added. “This is how partnerships can transform a nation.”
