Cardi B says drama follows her

Cardi B says drama follows her due to her big personality, despite avoiding controversy. She opens up about media bias and its emotional toll.

Popular rapper, Cardi B has complained of drama in her career no matter how much she tries to avoid it, blaming her outspoken personality and media bias for the attention she continues to receive.

The Grammy-winning rapper and singer, who recently confirmed her fourth pregnancy with NFL star Stefon Diggs, made the remarks during a candid interview with CBS.

Reflecting on her high school years, Cardi B recalled being labelled as “most dramatic” in her yearbook — a title she admits came as a surprise.

“I didn’t think I was that much drama. When I was in high school and I was voted most dramatic in my high school yearbook, I was surprised,” she said. “I don’t like drama. It just follows me.”

Cardi B says drama follows her because of the strong aura she projects and the boldness of her public persona. According to her, people with her kind of energy are often easy targets.

“When you have a big personality like me, or when you have a mouth like me, or whatever aura I give, drama will follow you,” she added. “It makes you an easier target. I don’t like drama. It stresses me.”

The Bronx-born rapper has been at the centre of multiple media controversies over the years — ranging from legal disputes to public feuds — despite repeatedly expressing her desire for peace and privacy.

Cardi B’s comments come as she prepares to welcome a new child and shift her focus more toward family and music. However, she admits that the constant scrutiny can still be emotionally draining.

Her remarks have sparked fresh discussions online about how women — particularly outspoken public figures — are often unfairly portrayed or targeted by media outlets.
