Federal High Court orders UNILAG, OAU, and JAMB to suspend 2025/2026 admissions until complaints by students are fully heard and resolved
UNILAG OAU admission suspension has been ordered by the Federal High Court in Enugu, halting all admission activities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Justice A.T. Segun-Bello delivered the ruling after a group of students filed a case against the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Applicants Chibuzor Success, Oyeleye Zainab Ayomide, Adedeji John Samuel, Monsura Aliat Aduragbem, and Bassey Daniel Nsikak sought the suspension to prevent the release or approval of admission lists until their grievances are properly addressed.
They argued that proceeding with admissions could jeopardise their chances and render the case meaningless.
Justice Segun-Bello agreed that the matter is significant and requires careful consideration.
He directed that the universities and JAMB be formally notified to respond and ordered that all parties maintain the current status quo.
This means no admission lists can be finalised or released until the court delivers a final judgment.

The case has been adjourned to October 28, 2025, for both sides to present their arguments.
