itel Nigeria marks World Food Day with powerful outreach

Themed ‘Nourish to Flourish’, the outreach was carried out in Kpite and Bunu communities in Tai Local Government Area, touching the lives of hundreds of schoolchildren and their families.

In partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), the brand visited Divine Academy, St James Academy, and Primary Schools 1–3 in Kpite, as well as Divine Grace Schools and Model Primary Schools 1–3 in Bunu.

Children received nutritious meals, including freshly prepared jollof rice and fish.

In addition to the meals, pupils were gifted branded school bags, mathematical sets, and water bottles—a thoughtful combination of nourishment and learning support.

The itel Nigeria World Food Day project aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, and 4—Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education—amplifying the brand’s mission to deliver real impact beyond devices.

Terngu Shagba, PR Supervisor at itel Nigeria, highlighted the brand’s people-first philosophy.

“At itel, we believe that true progress begins with people, especially the young ones. Our ‘Nourish to Flourish’ initiative is more than just a CSR; it’s a promise.”

He noted that by merging food with education, itel is “investing in the future of these communities”—proving once again that technology brands can lead with heart.

Echoing this sentiment, Maume Agbaosi, Donor Relations Officer at LFBI, applauded the collaboration:

“Together, we’ve not only provided meals but restored hope and happiness to children. Combating hunger is a collective effort.”

The event brought joy and inspiration to pupils, many of whom expressed excitement and gratitude for the visit.

Teachers described the effort as timely and uplifting, with the gifts serving as motivation for academic focus.

From smiles to schoolbags, itel Nigeria World Food Day has left more than a memory—it’s left a message of inclusion, care, and commitment.
