Delta Air Lines launches first nonstop Atlanta–Marrakech route, strengthening US–Morocco connectivity and expanding its African network

Delta Air Lines Atlanta–Marrakech route Delta Air Lines has officially launched its first nonstop flight between Atlanta and Marrakech, marking a historic milestone in US–Morocco connectivity and expanding the carrier’s footprint across Africa.

The inaugural service, operated by a Boeing 767-400ER, landed at Marrakech Menara Airport on October 26, inaugurating a three-times-a-week connection between Morocco’s famed Red City and Delta’s Atlanta global hub.

With the launch, Delta becomes the first US airline to operate a nonstop route between Atlanta and Marrakech, enhancing business, leisure, and cultural ties between both nations.

“Delta’s new nonstop service to Marrakech marks an exciting milestone in our commitment to connect the US and Africa.

This route opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant and culturally rich destinations, making travel more seamless for our customers,” said Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s Managing Director of EMEAI Operations.

She added that the service underscores Atlanta’s position as a leading global hub, offering convenient one-stop connectivity for US travellers and “bringing the magic of Marrakech closer than ever.”

Flights will operate three times weekly, departing Marrakech on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and Atlanta on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The airline plans to temporarily increase frequency to daily flights between December 18 and January 6, 2026, to meet festive travel demand.

The Boeing 767-400ER offers Delta One lie-flat seats, Premium Select, Comfort+, and Main Cabin options, each featuring Wi-Fi connectivity via Delta Sync, personal in-flight entertainment, and curated dining experiences.

Since its first African service in 2006, Delta has transported over 7.5 million passengers to the continent, now serving six African destinations including Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Marrakech.

The airline noted that the new service reflects its ongoing international expansion from Atlanta the world’s busiest airport and reinforces its century-long legacy of global innovation and customer excellence.
