Effective from November 1, the price of a DStv decoder has dropped from ₦10,000 to ₦7,900, while the GOtv decoder now sells for ₦6,500.
This marks the second major price reduction by the pay-TV provider in just a few months.
The adjustment follows the company’s earlier “We’ve Got You” campaign in June, which saw DStv decoder prices cut by 50 per cent from ₦20,000 to ₦10,000, and GOtv decoders reduced from ₦18,600 to ₦9,900.
According to Tope Oshunkeye, MultiChoice’s Executive Head of Marketing, the company’s latest decision underscores its commitment to affordability and customer satisfaction, especially as the festive season approaches.
“This move ensures that entertainment remains within reach for all Nigerians,” Oshunkeye explained, adding that the company wants more families to enjoy both local and international content without financial strain.
With this decisive step, MultiChoice cuts decoder prices not only to ease economic pressure on subscribers but also to strengthen its bond with customers across the country.
Industry watchers see the move as a strategic effort to maintain loyalty and attract new viewers in a competitive pay-TV market increasingly shaped by digital streaming options.
