In a formal statement, the carrier said United Nigeria Airlines Hails Apologies because both men have now pledged to avoid any behaviour that could compromise safety.

The airline noted that the incident occurred on 17 November 2025 during boarding for the flight from Asaba to Lagos.

According to the statement signed by its spokesperson, Chibuike Uloka, both individuals have since taken responsibility and promised on their social media pages to refrain from any disruptive behaviour on future flights.

The airline described their commitments as an encouraging step towards maintaining civility in air travel.

United Nigeria Airlines expressed confidence that the undertakings would be respected in the interest of ensuring a safe, calm and orderly travel environment for all passengers.

It added that aviation safety remains a shared responsibility and that every traveller plays a role in preserving order onboard.

The carrier went on to commend the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, airport security personnel, other aviation agencies, the Asaba Airport Authority and its own crew for their quick, professional response.

It said their actions aligned with established safety procedures and helped prevent the situation from escalating.

The statement also reaffirmed the airline’s support for ongoing efforts by aviation regulators and the Airline Operators of Nigeria to curb unruly passenger behaviour.
