Ola Aina expresses frustration with NFF over injury support, sparking speculation he may quit the Super Eagles
Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has reportedly contemplated quitting the Super Eagles after expressing his disappointment to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Ibrahim Gusau over the handling of his injury sustained during national duty.

A source close to the player told SCORENigeria that Aina was “seriously considering quitting the Super Eagles” following what he described as abandonment while injured.
The defender suffered a hamstring injury requiring surgery in September during a match against South Africa in Bloemfontein.
“He confronted the NFF president on this, clearly disappointed with how he was left on his own even though he was injured on national service,” the source added.
The treatment of Ola Aina reportedly echoes the grievances that led to the Super Eagles’ pay strike before the 2026 World Cup playoff against Gabon in Rabat, Morocco.
It also prompted a visit from the NFF president to England in a bid to mend fences with the player.

It remains uncertain whether the intervention has convinced Aina to remain committed to the national team, leaving his future with the Super Eagles under close watch.
