Arteta’s side hold a six point lead over Chelsea after twelve matches in a season marked by Arsenal’s confident victories over Tottenham and Bayern Munich.
Chelsea also arrive in strong form, buoyed by three consecutive league wins and a dominant three nil victory against Barcelona.
Despite Chelsea’s youthful squad and lingering perceptions that they are outsiders for the title, Arteta insisted that Enzo Maresca’s team have shown quality that demands respect.
He highlighted their recent achievements, including victories in the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup.
Speaking to reporters, he said the squad’s depth, coaching structure and style of play make their rise entirely deserved.
He described Chelsea as one of the most enjoyable sides to watch due to their fluidity, individual talent and clarity of approach.
