Sanwo-Olu urges investors as Lagos gains positive ranking

Sanwo-Olu urges investors as Lagos posts a positive ease-of-business ranking and opens the new TY Logistics Park in Alaro City

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on local and international investors to tap into emerging opportunities in the state, citing Lagos’ improved ease-of-doing-business ranking and sweeping reforms that have strengthened its investment environment.

The appeal came as Sanwo-Olu urges investors during the inauguration of TY Logistics Park, FZE, in Alaro City within the Lekki Free Zone on Tuesday.

The 29,000-square-metre facility, developed by TY Holdings, is an ultra-modern warehousing and trade complex that the governor described as a significant boost to Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain network.

In a post shared on the Lagos State Government’s official X account, Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos recently secured the top position in Nigeria’s latest Subnational Ease of Doing Business report released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.

The state scored 85.6 per cent, emerging as the nation’s best-performing investment destination.

Sanwo-Olu said the ranking reflected years of consistent reforms, infrastructure expansion and deliberate policy choices aimed at making Lagos the most competitive market for enterprise and innovation.

Inaugurating the project alongside Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, he praised TY Holdings for demonstrating strong confidence in the state’s economic direction.

He described the logistics park as a landmark investment that advances Lagos’ growth story.

According to the governor, the development reinforces Alaro City’s emergence as a preferred industrial hub in sub-Saharan Africa and aligns with Lagos’ broader economic agenda to modernise logistics, attract foreign capital and support sustainable development.

He added that Lagos is also constructing what will become the largest food logistics hub in West Africa.

Sanwo-Olu outlined ongoing efforts to ease movement and improve trade efficiency across the Lekki corridor, including plans for a dedicated road that will directly link Lekki Port, Dangote Refinery and Alaro City in order to reduce pressure on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

Governor Kefas, in his remarks, commended the initiative and expressed pride in Taraba State’s involvement.

He said the project deepens inter-state cooperation, especially in the movement of agricultural produce from Taraba to Lagos processing centres and markets.
