Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, said the project will traverse Gwale, Kano Municipal, Dala, and Fagge Local Government Areas.

He noted that the federal government took over the project at the request of the Kano State Government.

Ata explained that the state government had completed 850 metres of the work, while the federal government will fund the remaining 6.7 kilometres. He added that the state would cover the cost of compensating affected property owners.

The minister commended former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso for initiating the project in 2013 and expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the funds.

“The initiative is a major intervention that underscores the federal government’s commitment to Kano State,” Ata said, describing it as a significant step towards improving urban infrastructure and economic resilience.
