Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Ltd (PINL) distributes food and medical palliatives to Owaza and Rivers State communities, urging stronger cooperation in 2026 to protect the Trans Niger Pipelines

Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) extended its annual Christmas outreach to Owaza in Ukwa West LGA, Abia State, and select communities in Rivers State on Sunday, distributing food items and providing medical services to host communities along the Eastern Corridor of the Trans Niger Pipelines (TNP).

Ebikeme Andrew, Head of Community Relations at PINL, presented the palliatives at a primary school in Owaza, acknowledging the communities’ support throughout 2025 and calling for increased collaboration in 2026.

He urged community members to continue efforts in preventing infractions along the pipeline, emphasizing the need to discourage oil bunkering and other criminal activities.

Andrew stated, “As you have supported us in 2025, we want to say come 2026, we need to do more in that regard. Tell your youths, tell everyone in your community that the time of oil bunkering is over. This is the time to join hands with the government to stop all forms of criminality along the TNP.”

Alongside the palliative distribution, PINL conducted free medical services, with sufficient personnel on hand to attend to the healthcare needs of the community members.

Responding to the gesture, Chief Maxwell Chibuzor Nwagbara, the traditional Prime Minister of Owaza, expressed satisfaction, highlighting the importance of keeping host communities happy during the festive season.

He praised PINL’s approach, noting that their engagement strengthens local relationships and supports increased oil production along the TNP.

Chief Nwagbara called on the Federal Government to consider extending PINL’s services, citing the company’s operational capability and harmonious relations with host communities as factors that contribute to enhanced pipeline output.

He also reaffirmed the community’s willingness to continue supporting PINL’s operations.

The initiative underscores PINL’s commitment to fostering goodwill, safety, and sustainable partnerships with communities along its operational corridor.
