Hill will honour the late Roberta Flack and D’Angelo during the tribute, which will air live on Sunday, February 1, from the Crypto.com Arena.

Hill’s participation carries special significance, reflecting her long-standing artistic ties to both legends.

She famously covered Flack’s 1973 hit “Killing Me Softly With His Song” with the Fugees on their 1996 album .

The Score and collaborated with D’Angelo on the Grammy-nominated track “Nothing Even Matters.”

The segment will also feature Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson joining Reba McEntire to honour other departed musicians.

A separate tribute for Ozzy Osbourne will include performances by Post Malone, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan, and Slash.

The In Memoriam segment has long served as a central moment of reflection during the Grammys, recognising music icons and industry figures who passed away since the previous ceremony.

Hill, who has earned 19 Grammy nominations and eight wins, remains one of the most decorated female artists in the awards’ history.

Her 1999 solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, garnered ten nominations then a record for a woman in a single year and won five awards, including Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best R&B Album.

The album later entered the Grammy Hall of Fame.

The 2026 ceremony, hosted for the sixth and final time by Trevor Noah, will air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, with streaming on Paramount+.

Performances will include Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Clipse, Pharrell Williams, and all Best New Artist nominees: Addison Rae, Alex Warren, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, Lola Young, Olivia Dean, SOMBR, and The Marías.
