The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, ASF Bashir Muazu, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday.

He said firefighters responded swiftly to a distress call and brought the blaze under control before it could spread to nearby structures.

“No casualties were recorded,” Muazu said, adding that the professionalism and quick intervention of firefighters confined the fire to the affected buildings.

Preliminary assessments showed that property valued at approximately ₦25 million was saved, while losses were estimated at about ₦5 million.

Muazu acknowledged the support of the Gombe State Fire Service and security personnel from the Tumfure Divisional Police Station, describing the collaboration as effective and timely.

The Federal Fire Service urged residents to prioritise fire safety, advising regular inspection of electrical installations and the avoidance of practices that could trigger fire outbreaks.

Muazu stressed that prevention remains the most powerful tool in reducing fire incidents.
