FAAN and MTN launch free WiFi at Lagos and Abuja international airports, enhancing passenger experience and digital connectivity nationwide

Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director/Chief Executive of FAAN, was represented at the event by Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood, Director of Airport Operations.

The service, which is completely free for passengers and airport users, will be extended to MMIA’s temporary terminal and other international airports across Nigeria within the next three months, FAAN said in a statement released via its X handle.

Mahmood described the launch as a milestone for FAAN, noting that the partnership with MTN demonstrates the potential of effective Public-Private Partnerships to modernise airport infrastructure and strengthen the digital economy.

He linked the initiative to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the transformation drive of Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

Lynda Saint-Nwafor, Chief Enterprise Business Officer of MTN Nigeria, representing CEO Karl Toriola, assured passengers that the WiFi service would be reliable, secure, and efficient. She commended FAAN for its foresight and collaboration in bringing the project to completion.

The launch comes shortly after FAAN reaffirmed its ban on cash transactions for all services nationwide, effective 28 February, following discussions with executives of various aviation unions.
