WAEC: Rufai Oseni slams Dapo Abiodun over alleged incompetence

Rufai Oseni criticises Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun over errors in WASSCE learner registration, citing portal migrations that caused omissions and misplacements

The registration procedure for learners sitting the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has faced criticism for being cumbersome.

In Ogun State, several digital portal migrations have led to errors affecting students.

According to sources, the Commissioner for Education, Science & Technology previously maintained a portal called Edutam four years ago.

Learners were later migrated to OGSERA two years ago, and this year the system moved students to a new portal called DIPER.

These successive migrations have caused significant issues, including learners being placed in incorrect classes and some students being completely omitted from the registration list.

Rufai Oseni, a public commentator, has slammed Governor Dapo Abiodun over the alleged mishandling, accusing the state government of incompetence in managing critical educational processes.

The criticism highlights the urgent need for Ogun State authorities to streamline WASSCE registration to prevent further disruption to students’ academic progression.
