Comedian Acapella criticises N78,000 airport parking fee at Lagos MMA 2, calling the charges exploitative and excessive
Nigerian comedian, actor, and event host Emuoboh Ohare, popularly known as Acapella, has publicly criticised the exorbitant N78,000 parking fee at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA 2) in Lagos.

The complaint, shared in a video on his verified Facebook page on Monday, detailed the steep increase for a three-night stay.
Acapella explained that he returned to Lagos from a three-day trip to Abuja and was charged N78,000 for parking his vehicle, including one additional hour.
He noted that overnight parking previously cost N6,000 per night, but as of March 1, 2026, the fee had surged to N25,000 per night.
“This morning I landed MMA 2 airport from Abuja. I parked my car at the airport. To my surprise, the guy (airport official) told me my fee was N78,000,” Acapella said.
“I asked him what he meant; I parked this car here since Friday, three nights and one hour. And then the guy said overnight parking costs N25,000.”
He expressed disbelief that Nigerians had not protested the sharp increase, questioning why people had seemingly adapted without complaint.
Acapella also compared the cost to local taxi fares, emphasising the growing financial strain for airport users.
“The biggest problem we have as a people is that we collectively do not want Nigeria to work. Everybody just wants to make money to adapt to the stupidity that is going on in Nigeria… Guys, we are sinking,” he added.
