Anele Hammond Standard Bank allegations spark outrage as she claims fraud, violence, and poisoning over a car dispute

South African academic Professor Anele Hammond has publicly accused Standard Bank of committing fraud, using violence against her and her daughter, and allegedly attempting to poison her child, in connection with a dispute over a car.

The allegations were shared widely on TikTok, drawing national attention and sparking heated online debate. Prof Hammond described the events as part of a broader attempt to intimidate and harm her family.

Social media users have expressed shock at the claims, with many questioning the bank’s practices and calling for an immediate investigation.

The allegations, if substantiated, would mark a serious breach of trust by a major financial institution.

Standard Bank has yet to respond publicly to the accusations. Legal experts suggest that such claims could lead to significant litigation, particularly if evidence supports the alleged fraud and violence.
