Destiny Boy autopsy report reveals toxic substance ingestion as cause of death, clearing suspect of involvement, police confirm
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that an autopsy has cleared Ifayomi Oba Edu Jogbodo Orunmila of any involvement in the death of 22-year-old Afrofuji singer, Destiny Boy, following a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing.

Destiny Boy autopsy report, conducted by a consultant anatomic pathologist, revealed that the late singer had harmful levels of tramadol, its metabolites and methamphetamine in his system at the time of death.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Babaseyi Oluseyi, the findings showed that the cause of death was aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the ingestion of the toxic substances.
The report also confirmed January 17, 2026, as the official date of death, bringing clarity to a case that had generated widespread public concern and speculation.
Autopsy report on Destiny Boy, effectively ruled out foul play involving the previously mentioned individual, shifting focus to substance-related health complications.
Destiny Boy rose to prominence in 2019 after his Fuji-inspired cover of If by Davido went viral, earning him recognition as one of the promising young talents in Nigeria’s music scene.
He later released several tracks including “Lamba,” “One Transaction,” “Gbese,” and “Lowkey,” building a growing fan base before his untimely death.
