Edafe debunks Ogidi missing body rumours, confirming remains are in mortuary as police insist autopsy is compulsory
Delta State Police Command spokesperson Bright Edafe has firmly dismissed reports that the body of slain musician Oghenemine Ogidi is missing, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The clarification follows widespread social media allegations suggesting that the police could not locate the remains of the 28-year-old, who was fatally shot in Effurun.
In a statement shared via his official social media account on Friday, Edafe confirmed that the body is being held at a designated mortuary within the state and remains accessible to the family.
He stated that the family had been duly informed and would be granted access whenever they wish to view the remains, countering speculation that authorities had withheld or misplaced the body.
Edafe emphasised that the case is being treated as a suspected murder, making a forensic autopsy a legal requirement.
He added that the family had consented to the procedure, which is expected to provide crucial clarity in the ongoing investigation.
The development comes amid heightened public scrutiny following the fatal shooting of Ogidi by a police officer in broad daylight, an incident that triggered outrage and demands for accountability.
Police authorities have confirmed that the officer allegedly responsible, Nuhu Usman, has been arrested and transferred to Force Headquarters for further action.
In a decisive move, the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the immediate dismissal and criminal prosecution of officers implicated in the killing.
