Ajiboye Abayomi Olayinka rape conviction leads to life imprisonment after Kwara High Court found him guilty of rape and related offences
Prophet Ajiboye Abayomi Olayinka, the General Overseer of Mission House of Divine Land of Joy and Prayer Ministry, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday, following his conviction for rape and related offences involving minors.

Justice Hammed Aliyu Gegele delivered the judgment, sentencing Ajiboye Abayomi Olayinka to life imprisonment on multiple counts bordering on rape and unlawful sexual intercourse with minors, alongside an additional 14-year prison term for illegal abortion.
The court found the cleric guilty after considering evidence presented in a case that stemmed from allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation of underage victims in Agah Village, Ilorin South Local Government Area.
The case was initiated following investigations by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, through its Gender Unit, after the suspect was arrested in May 2024.
Ajiboye Abayomi Olayinka rape conviction followed a detailed investigation that was later handed over to the Kwara State Ministry of Justice for prosecution, culminating in the final ruling delivered at the High Court in Ilorin.
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps commended the courage of the victims who came forward despite reported threats, intimidation and emotional trauma during the course of the investigation.
Officials also praised the professionalism of the NSCDC Gender Unit, noting that their investigative work was instrumental in securing the conviction.
Kwara State Ministry of Justice was also acknowledged for its collaboration and commitment throughout the prosecution process, which ultimately led to the successful verdict.
Commandant Abbas Nda Mohammed reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting vulnerable persons and ensuring that perpetrators of sexual and gender based violence are held accountable regardless of status or influence.
