Ifeanyi Okowa wins the APC Senate race after defeating Ned Nwoko for the Delta North ticket ahead of 2027 elections
Former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Delta North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections after defeating businessman and politician, Ned Nwoko, in a closely contested party exercise.

The former governor secured a commanding 113,309 votes, while Nwoko polled 2,612 votes in the keenly watched APC contest.
The outcome of the APC Senate race strengthens the political resurgence of the former Delta governor within the ruling party and positions him as a major contender for the Delta North seat in the 2027 polls.
Party supporters and political observers described the result as a decisive victory, reflecting Okowa’s enduring influence across the senatorial district despite recent shifts in Delta State politics.
