Blaqbonez says he has “clocked out” of Nigeria, expressing doubts about governance and the country’s political direction during a podcast interview
Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has expressed deep frustration over Nigeria’s governance and national direction, stating that he no longer believes in the country’s current trajectory.

Speaking during an appearance on the Off The Record podcast, the rapper said he feels disconnected from the country’s political process and has “clocked out” of its future prospects.
Blaqbonez revealed that he has never participated in an election, adding that repeated disappointment with leadership has shaped his current outlook on Nigeria’s governance system.
“I haven’t voted before. I kind of feel like I clocked out of Nigeria,” he said.
The rapper explained that years of unmet expectations have influenced his perception of the country, adding that he no longer sees a meaningful difference between political parties.
“I feel like our leaders are a representation of us. I don’t see any difference regardless of the party,” he stated.
He further described Nigeria’s governance structure as fundamentally flawed, comparing it to a “rotten root” producing weak outcomes across different branches of leadership.
Blaqbonez added that a significant national shift would be required before he could reconsider his stance on the country’s future.
