The All Progressives Congress declared Tinubu winner after he defeated his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who scored 16,503 votes in the exercise that covered all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, 774 local government areas and 8,809 wards.

The party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, formally presented the certificate of return and party flag to the President at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, in the presence of governors, ministers, lawmakers and senior party leaders.

In his acceptance speech, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu pledged to deepen ongoing reforms, strengthen national security and consolidate democratic governance if re-elected in 2027.

He said his administration would continue on what he described as a “disciplined path of economic transformation”, focusing on industrial growth, infrastructure expansion and food security.

The President also said difficult policy decisions taken since 2023 were beginning to yield positive results, insisting that Nigeria’s economic direction remained stable despite global disruptions.

Tinubu used the occasion to defend key reforms including the removal of fuel subsidy and changes in the foreign exchange system, describing them as necessary steps to stabilise the economy.

He stated that government revenue had improved under new fiscal and tax policies, adding that structural adjustments were strengthening national finances.

The President also highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, noting that more than N282 billion had been disbursed to over 1.5 million beneficiaries to support access to higher education.

Addressing security concerns, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across the country.

He said government efforts remained focused on protecting lives and property while strengthening national security architecture.

On infrastructure, he outlined ongoing investments in roads, power, ports and digital connectivity, describing major highway projects as long-term assets designed to support economic development.

Chairman of the APC Presidential Election Committee, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, announced the final results and described the process as transparent and compliant with electoral guidelines.

He said over 12 million party members were registered for the exercise, with more than 11 million accredited and votes cast across party structures nationwide.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also extended a message of political unity, urging cooperation across party lines in the interest of national development.
