The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Muslim faithful in Lagos State and across Nigeria, while also commending Nigerians for what he described as a strong turnout during the recently concluded All Progressives Congress primaries.

Obasa APC primaries Sallah message was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Dave Agboola, in which the Speaker described Eid al-Adha as a season of sacrifice, reflection, and gratitude.
Obasa urged Muslims to uphold the values of peace, unity, and love, noting that the festival offers an important opportunity for spiritual reflection and national cohesion.
He emphasised that Eid celebrations should inspire renewed commitment to collective responsibility and national development, particularly at a time when Nigeria continues to navigate significant political and economic reforms.
In a notable political reference, the Lagos Assembly Speaker commended Nigerians, especially members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for their participation in the party’s recent primaries.
Obasa said the turnout demonstrated public confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a sign of democratic resilience and political engagement.
The Sallah message further encouraged citizens to remain supportive of policies aimed at driving growth, stability, and long term prosperity in the country.
