A fire outbreak at the Old Garage area of Osogbo in Osun State on Sunday triggered widespread panic as emergency responders rushed to contain a rapidly spreading blaze near key commercial facilities.

Fire outbreak triggers panic in Osogbo unfolded as thick smoke engulfed parts of the area, with a video circulating online showing firefighters battling the flames while onlookers gathered at a distance.
According to eyewitness accounts, the fire broke out within the busy Old Garage axis, an area known for high traffic and commercial activity, including the presence of at least two nearby petrol stations.
The situation prompted an urgent response from the Osun State Command of the Federal Fire Service, which confirmed that its fire investigative team had been deployed to the scene.
Officials said efforts were underway to bring the situation under control, though the cause of the fire remained unknown at the time of reporting.
No official confirmation had been given regarding casualties or the extent of property damage as emergency operations continued at the scene.
The incident caused temporary disruption in movement within the area, as residents and traders expressed concern over the proximity of fuel stations to the affected site.
