Rarara Condemns Davido, accusing the singer of exposing Nigeria’s image by displaying abducted students’ names during a US show

Popular Hausa musician Dauda Kahutu Rarara has criticised Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for displaying the names of abducted students on a shirt during a performance in the United States.

Dauda Kahutu Rarara made the remarks while reacting to a viral video that showed Davido wearing a shirt bearing the names of abducted students and presenting it to an international audience during a recent show.

Rarara said the action projected a negative image of Nigeria and exposed sensitive national issues to the global community.

According to the singer, Davido’s decision to publicly display the names amounted to revealing the country’s secrets before an international audience.

Rarara described the act as “terrorism”, arguing that such actions could damage Nigeria’s reputation abroad.

The comments have sparked debate on social media, with supporters and critics expressing differing views on whether public figures should use international platforms to draw attention to security challenges in the country.

Some commentators argued that highlighting the plight of abducted students could help sustain global awareness and pressure authorities to secure their release.

Others agreed with Rarara’s position that such issues should be handled carefully to avoid harming the country’s image.

The controversy adds to ongoing discussions about the role of celebrities in advocacy campaigns and the balance between raising awareness and protecting national interests.

Neither Davido nor members of his management team had publicly responded to Rarara’s remarks as of press time.
