Omisore backs Adeleke re-election in Osun boost

Omisore Adeleke support strengthens Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid in Osun State as the senator’s structure endorses the incumbent amid massive campaign flag-off and legal hurdles on party registration

Senator Iyiola Omisore, a prominent political figure, alongside Governor Ademola Adeleke, signalled a significant consolidation of support for the governor’s re-election as the latter flagged off his campaign at Freedom Park amid a large gathering of supporters.

Also read:

Senator Iyiola Omisore announced that his political structure across the state has resolved to stand firmly behind Governor Ademola Adeleke’s bid, describing the move as being in the best interest of Osun State, its people, and the pursuit of unity, progress, and good governance.

“As we move toward the August 15 gubernatorial election, our position is clear, our structure is united, and our support is total. Osun is moving forward,” he stated.

Governor Ademola Adeleke used the well-attended event to reassure supporters that, despite a recent Federal High Court ruling ordering the de-registration of the Accord Party and others, his party would remain on the ballot for the August 15 poll and beyond.

He declared that all lawful means would be pursued to protect democratic rights, vowing not to bow to intimidation.

During the flag-off, several Omisore loyalists, including former officials, officially joined the Accord Party, adding momentum to the campaign.

This development comes against the backdrop of the Appeal Court granting a stay on the de-registration order, preserving the party’s status for now.

Such alliances reflect the fluid nature of Osun politics, where cross-party endorsements have shaped outcomes in past elections, including Governor Ademola Adeleke’s initial victory.

The governor highlighted ongoing infrastructure and welfare initiatives as reasons for continuity, while urging mobilisation across voting units.

This endorsement represents a powerful show of solidarity that could influence voter sentiment in the lead-up to the election.

Also read:

Both leaders emphasised the need for peaceful democratic processes as the state prepares for what promises to be a keenly contested poll.
