Rotarian Chief Dr Bonaventure Iloabuchi Igboanugo KSJI has assumed leadership of the Rotary Club of Revolution Lagos with a pledge to make measurable community impact the defining feature of his 2026/2027 presidency.
Igboanugo was formally installed as the Club’s third president on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at Martino Event Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, succeeding Immediate Past President Rtn. Sir Henry Uzodinma Obienu.
The installation brought together Rotarians, traditional rulers, business leaders, professionals, government representatives, family and friends. The ceremony was chaired by Rtn. Engr. Blessing David Oseghale KSJI, while HRH Igwe Ositadinma Nwokedi IV served as Royal Father of the Day.
For the new president, leadership must go beyond ceremonies and titles. His administration has unveiled a ₦44.95 million humanitarian project portfolio covering healthcare, education, water and sanitation, environmental sustainability, youth development and community empowerment.
At the centre of the agenda is the Club’s Star Project, a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) intervention at Olusosun Primary Health Centre, Ikeja, aimed at improving access to treated water and sanitation for patients, healthcare workers and the surrounding community.
The administration has already begun delivering on its promises. Since assuming office on 1 July, the Club has distributed more than 200 pregnancy delivery kits to expectant mothers at LASUTH and donated a 10KVA generator to a school in Apapa to support learning and community development.
“I accept this responsibility not as a position of privilege, but as a call to service,” Igboanugo said.
Beyond projects, the new president is also targeting organisational growth. His administration plans to attract at least 20 new members during the Rotary year while strengthening partnerships and sustainable fundraising.
Its guiding message, “Our Club. Our Service. Our Impact,” reflects the administration’s emphasis on collective responsibility.
Igboanugo has pledged to lead with humility, accountability, collaboration and integrity, with his legacy ultimately measured by the people empowered and communities improved.
As the Rotary Club of Revolution Lagos begins a new chapter, the challenge before its new president is clear: turn ambition into action and ensure that the impact of his administration extends beyond the 2026/2027 Rotary Year.
