The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) has congratulated its member, Judith Akatugba, on her appointment as Head of the Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication Directorate for the Delta State governorship campaign of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the professional body described the appointment as a fitting recognition of Akatugba’s depth of experience, professionalism and impressive track record in media and strategic communications.
SDNON said her emergence reflects the high standards the NDC gubernatorial candidate has continued to set in assembling his campaign team ahead of the Delta governorship election.
Speaking on behalf of the Society, SDNON President Adeniyi Ifetayo described the appointment as a proud moment for both Akatugba and the organisation, noting that she has consistently demonstrated integrity, excellence and responsible journalism throughout her career.
“SDNON is proud of Judith’s achievement. Her appointment is a testament to what dedication and professionalism in the media space can achieve. We have no doubt she will bring her wealth of experience to bear in shaping the communication strategy of the campaign,” Ifetayo said.
The Society also pledged its support to Akatugba as she assumes her new responsibilities, expressing confidence in her ability to deliver impactful, strategic and effective communication throughout the NDC governorship campaign in Delta State.
SDNON further prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and guidance for its member, wishing her a successful tenure in the role.
